This is now my 6th or 7th st croix rod I believe in the last 2 years. Every single one has broke. I have fished this legand inshore for no more 2 months and it already broke. The epoxy that holds the reel stay onto the blank, fully let go which is a sign of the poor production quality. You would expect better quality for an almost $400 rod.

I found the fast action tournament to be a little too fast. I fish mostly for reds and think a medium action rod might be more appropriate.
I grew up in the U.P of Michigan, and I have been an avid angler since my dad would take me as a child. Fishing has been a way for me to connect with nature and myself. I currently reside near the Gulf Coast of Texas. My husband bought me (as an anniversary gift) the Mojo 7 foot medium heavy, and it works like an absolute dream. I was able to pull in a beautiful red while surf fishing. We've purchased numerous St. Croix rods, and I have not been disappointed. Thank you for your passion and craftsmanship, so that I may enjoy my passion. I wish I would have included the rod in the picture.
Props to St Croix for taking an already solid line of rods and raising the bar. The 7ft medium fast 8-17 is everything you’d want in an inshore rod. Great action, extremely lightweight and super sensitive with a good backbone to fight upper and over slot reds and snook. An absolute must have for artificial anglers looking for the best of the best without spending NRX or Legend Extreme money.
Pair with a 3000 with 10 lb braid and you will have a perfect inshore setup.
The fit and finish is so nice and the new foregrip design is comfortable. Along with a 15 year warranty you can’t beat this.
