I bought seven St Croix rods and five Lews custom light reels this year. So far. I am extremely happy how sensitive and light the rods are. Combined with the Lews custom light reels I have a Great selection of very sensitive and lightweight fishing combinations to choose from from.
The rods were a great purchase!! But as others have also stated, don’t expect anyone to answer the phone or respond to emails in what most customers expect! Not going to happen!
You may also receive an empty tube because the shipping person at St Croix failed to use enough tape to keep the plastic plugs at the ends of the tube in place. My UPS driver showed me the tube two rods were shipped in without tube plugs and one small piece of tape left. I was not happy!
When I received the replacement rods there was no tape left on one end of the rod tube and just a small amount on the other end.
I don’t understand how a company that builds such great fishing rods can so sloppily ship their product and not promptly respond to customers!
Thankfully, the rods are great.
I recently purchased the 6' one piece ultralight fast action Avid Series Panfish rod for fall trout season. I couldn't be happier with the overall performance. This rod is so light and well balanced with the perfect amount of spine and flex. I paired it with a Shimano Vanford 2000 and it's an absolute dream setup for stream trout fishing. Easily handles 5lb+ fish.
I’ve had this rod for 3 weeks and absolutely love it for running cranks and swim baits. Not to mention the people at st Croix have the best customer service, warranty department, and rods on the market. Extremely helpful staff and will only be buying St. Croixs from this point on.
I use the 6 foot for my trout rod. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like an extension of my hand. I can toss and flip and rip this all day and then hike through the woods carrying it, no problem! Very high end pole, pair it with a high end reel and it's the best trout combo you will ever find.
Best customer service minor problem my old rod, where you locked your reel seems to loosed even when tightening maybe factory glue defect. When in the replace it with a newer model free. I was soo happy
