If I could only use one........

I have bought the 610MLEF, loved it so much I bought a second, the reason why I have 2 is because I used to use 68MEF for wacky's and slipping docks and such, but the Victory 610 is so versatile that it is the truest "in--between" a Medium and medium light rod I have ever used. It has a stronger backbone than most ML's more like a M, but a soft extra-fast tip like a ML... It really thrives in tossing 1/4oz lure/b baits, but Can easily go as low as 1/16, but 1/2 is where I draw the line. I use it for lighter jerkbaits, 1/4 tubes, wacky's, nekos, damikis, and dropshots, however I feel like it was designed for ned rigs or 1/4 small swim jigs. I do plenty of smallmouth fishing and it drives in the hook with ease, loads up and bombs a cast, and the blank can handle the head shakes and surges we all know big brown and green bass deliver. This rod is extremely light so pairing it with a light 2500 will suit you well. I have a 2500 ballastic and vanford on mine, 10lb braid to 8lb flouro leader and that my friends is a superb combo... I will no longer buy high-end megabass or loomis rods.... when I wade the river & finesse fish smallmouth, this is always the rod i take! Well done St. Croix!!! please don't discontinue anytime soon!!!!

Responsive Sensitive

I purchased the Victory 6'8" M XF Spinning rod. I purchased it to be able to skip wakey rigs under trees and docks. As a Kayak fisherman rod length really plays a role in application. I found it did "OK" But honestly not great. I have another rod that is even lighter and a bit more sensitive for such light applications. This is not a knock on the rod, as I found it is a FANTASTIC Shakey head rod and also great for skipping light jigs. The rod is more than sufficiently sensitive and responsive in firm hook sets with light jigs.
So while it's not going to be my wakey rig rod, paired with a 3000 Miravel it's a great setup and at the price point a steel, punching above it's price point.
So 4 stars not 5 just because I feel the weight of the rod compaired to my Expride was the difference in it's effectiveness at the wakey worm application.

Fishing Lake St. Clair 200+ days a year will really test your equipment. The Victory Rods have been absolutely outstanding. Balanced very well with a sensitive blank and quality guides. This American Made Rod is a great deal at this price point.
