The rod (a Christmas gift) arrived in badly damaged packaging. I removed the rod to ensure it wasn’t in pieces but did not remove the plastic wrap for closer examination. It looked like the shipper had used copious amounts of packing tape to hold the tube in one piece.

When my son opened it and removed the plastic he discovered at least one of the “eyes”? Was bent out at the wrong angle. I immediately contacted St Croix, received an email acknowledging receipt of my email and in the 3+ weeks since have heard absolutely nothing. I guess we’ll be taking a pair of pliers to the eye to try to make it usable and hope it doesn’t snap off in the process.

Disgusted. It was not a cheap rod. My son and husband are avid fishermen and we won’t order from St Croix again.

I am loving this black bass skipping rod perfect amount of flex in the tip to roll cast under docks and ledges. Plus the warranty is best in the business .

One of my best rods thanks to St Croix for making the best rods on earth.
