Happy with my trout rod

I fish in small mountain rivers and streams. Trout run from 10 to 18 inches. I purchased the 6'6" fast action rod a couple of years ago. I have caught many trout with this rod, and I find it well balanced and can handle some big cutthroats that run 16 to 18 inches. I like the sensitivity and I can easily set the hook. I use my Avid series rod for larger rivers. Since the tip on the trout series is smaller and is more sensitive, I always cut the line if caught on snags rather than attempting to tug on the pole.

I have a Shimano Sedona 500 reel paired with this rod and I have enjoyed my fishing experiences with it.

Great Customer Service

Haven’t tried the rod yet, but I did happen to snap the tip off while taking it out of the package. They replaced it for free. Can’t wait to get in the water. Tight Lines!

6'0 ultralight

Picked this rod up over the weekend. I've caught about 30 trout on it so far. Biggest was about 17" handle it without a problem. It definitely was a good fight. But I have no doubt it will handle a 25" trout without a problem. But take your time it is not meant to horse them in. I read a lot of bad reviews on the ultralight St. Croix rods. I don't know why other than user error. I do not feel durability is an issue. As long as your careful especially with tip. But that is on the angler. I do recommend staying within the recommended weight rating. It does make a difference to a rods durability in my opinion. Will be purchasing more in the near future.

Trout series 6'4 light

Bought this rod about a month ago. They stocked our local lures only creeks. I took it out throwing jerk baits and spinners. It was perfect I caught about 30 trout so far. 2 of them were 22 inches handled them great. With 4lb fluorocarbon it cast smooth even with 1/32 oz spinners. Hook sets have been great with a true fast action rod which I prefer. Ill be purchasing more of these in the future. Well worth the money.

Absolutely trash

I just literally bought this rod not 4 days ago, 6 foot 9 medium high action, I'm still on the lake and the first decent sized fish I caught the rod snapped 4 inches up the 2nd piece, lost a rainbow that was at least 9 pounds
