Been using the triumph casting and spinning rods. Have no complaints. Really good rod for the price. Just a recreational fisherman and meets and exceeds all my needs.
This is the second St. Croix rod where the tip broke off after a few casts. I have learned from past experience with my St. Croix rod to carry an extra of a different brand. Very poor quality!! The new tip is $60 versus a new rod for $110.
Definitely a step down from the rods in St. Croix's higher price brackets, but still a good rod. I used a Medium-Light 7' 2-piece on a walleye trip in Canada last year and it was great. Good sensitivity, nice cork. Handled everything from 25' walleye to a 41' Northern.
I like the Premier and Avid rods better, but for someone on a budget, the Triumph is a good choice.
Solid rod for the money. I have four and love them
This is the best rod on the market
