Mojo rod review

Me personally I hate this rod I’ve had it for about a month now and the tip top guide has already chipped and when it chips it frays up your line and brakes you off another thing is the reel seat it sucks it loosens after 5 casts .

Absolutely love this rod!!

Light as a feather!! Super sensitive. Fast tip. I have 10 rods on the boat and can’t put this one down!!

Didn't even plan to buy this rod

I went to Cabelas 100% set to buy something else. Picked this rod up and fell in love. The guides, the grips and cork, the weight, balance, color, its a perfectly made rod. I snagged the 7-3 ML for using mostly with Great Lakes Finesse stuff and so far it's performed FLAWLESSLY. Legit cannot over-recommend this rod for light / finesse / small minnows or small tube set ups. The only negative, which isn't really a negative persay; the trigon thing - you can't notice or feel it when using. Just feels normal. To me at least.

I Don't Want To Write This Review

I am a big fan of St Croix Rods. I have a number of them. I had a Mojo Bass MJS68MXF. I loved that rod. Sadly I broke it. Totally my fault. But St Croix always wants to make their customers happy. This was right when the new Trigon rods came out. I was expecting an original model as I assumed they kept some back for warranty replacements. But nope. They sent me one of the new Trigon rods. My first impression was not good. The blank is perfect just like the original. The guides I like better. So what was the problem? The handle. Not a fan of the triangle. And it feels so cheap. Feels like a piece of trash. I have had $60 rods that had a nicer handle on it. I have heard some people are having trouble tightening up their reels on them. At first, I did as well but I moved the reel around and it set in and I was able to tighten it. but I thought it was going to break. I kept waiting to do this review because I did not want to say anything bad about St Croix. But I have to be honest. And the price they are charging now for these rods. They have put them out of my reach. Charge more for a cheaper feeling rod? I don't think so. I guess I am going to be buying other rods if they stick with these handles. How could they not see how cheap these handles are? But I guess it is all about perspective. Because some people love them and think they are great. I am glad they like them. But my experience and feelings are not the same.
