Nice rod if they didn't break

Bought this spinning rod less than a year ago at the end of 2022. In March of 2023 I fished with it the 1st time out and the tip snapped when I bank flipped a 2lb smallmouth. I received the replacement rod, after paying over $100 for a warranty claim, at the end of June. After fishing with it a dozen times the tip snapped again while netting a 1 1/2 smallmouth. I really like the rod but as fragile as the tip is I wish St Croix would allow me to replace it with another brand. I'm 63 and after 53 years of fishing I've had just 3 rods break and they all have been St Croix rods.

Not once BUT Twice!!!

I purchased this rod from tackle warehouse on 7/9/22. Used it for first time and snapped rod clear in half between reel seat and first guide while setting on a fish. Send back to tackle warehouse and they gave me a new one. Again on the first trip, SNAP, clear in half at same exact spot on blank as previous. I’m waiting on my 3rd rod now amd not to confident but gotta say, I love the rod that much!!! I will foillow up with a review of the 3rd rod after using for a bit. I pray I just got 2 bad ones as again, I love everything about the rod!!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

If Batman Had a Fishing Rod...

I had high expectations for this rod and I was not disappointed. I paired it up with a Shimano Vanford 2500 and it's a dream combo coining in at less than 11 oz total weight. I got the 6'8 M/XF version and I love it. It's super light but still has a lot of backbone for pulling the big fish out of the Florida grass. The braided line just flies through the carbon fiber line guides and it's whisper quiet. I love the handle design too. Very nice. The sensitivity on this rod is supreme. I can feel a slight tick with slack in the line. I'm going to get spoiled fast! So happy I pulled the trigger on this rod. I did a full review on my Old Lady Angler YT channel.
