Rod tip is fragile

Purchased this rod and the tip snapped like a twig during the first outing. I didn't even bother with warranty because I know it will happen again. I had alot higher expectations for the st croix name. The rod was definitely fun to fish with but the tip needs alot of improvement for better durability. It's not a matter of if it will break, but it's more so when it will break. Definitely proceed with caution before purchasing the triumph.

Great company Great Customer

The Triumph series rod I purchased has proven to be a very good spinning rod. In last past I have purchased 2 Avid series spinning rods a 5'6"Light and a 6' Medium light. The tip broke off the Light one after 15+ years of owning it, only because a good sixed channel cat (possible 6 to 8 lbs.) ate my jig, while fishing for crappie. The medium/light one i still have and used for over 20 years!

But, the best part of my this last purchase was the customer service I received. I thought I had ordered a Medium strength rod, but by my mistake a selected M/L. Well I already had the Avid M/L. Over a month later I noticed my mistake when putting a new real I purchased and the rod was still unwrapped. So, I called customer service told the rep what I had done and I'm pretty sure is has been over the 30day return policy. He said that it was closer to 45 days, but they would be happy to take the return of the M/L, not even knowing a had order the 6' Medium the day before. Outstanding customer service by a company a the great Northern Midwest. I from originally from Michigan. An ex-teacher and football coach on both the small college an high school level. Of course I'm Wolverine fan, but also a Big Ten fan, and now I'm even more of a Wisconsin fan, and not just the Badgers!! St. Croix Rods as well.

Great rod for the price

Been using the triumph casting and spinning rods. Have no complaints. Really good rod for the price. Just a recreational fisherman and meets and exceeds all my needs.

Broken rod tip

This is the second St. Croix rod where the tip broke off after a few casts. I have learned from past experience with my St. Croix rod to carry an extra of a different brand. Very poor quality!! The new tip is $60 versus a new rod for $110.
