I have a response to all the negative reviews

I have been using St. Croix rods for decades. I have been using ultralight tackle for over 40 years. I read every single negative review of this particular Rod.. I feel compelled to make the statement absolutely every single case from grandpa‘s getting their five-year-olds these rods to people trying to set hooks on big fish, I maintain strongly that the anglers were inexperienced with ultralight equipment in general And/or did not have the skill set or the patience to finesse Fish with sensitive gear that by design requires a more patient, detailed, and intentional skill set… I have landed a 28 pound monster on my ultralight Rod. It took almost 20 minutes to reel him in from 22 feet down, but that’s part of the finesse game.. Let’s take the worst case scenario. So you’re out on your trip and your rod breaks five years down the road. Guess what, you are going to get a US based company that is so hell-bent on customer service after a few detailed bits of communication, you’ll either either get a repair or another rod. Don’t pay any attention to these negative reviews. I big and strong on ultralight rods and mostly St. Croix. I also have a 7 foot mojo, which is a frighteningly skinny Rod that I use for saltwater. If you’ve ever pulled up 45 pound striper off of Block Island in over 100 feet of water, You will learn real fast, how strong these little skinny rods are… On the same rod, I limited out on black fish (Tautog) In 20 minutes Which have a profoundly sensitive bite, While the rest of the crew caught almost nothing. St. Croix rods are both sensitive and strong! I hope this helps

The rod works well with lures in upper weight range but I have trouble casting lures inthe lighter weight range of this rod. Not saying it won’t cast them just not to my satisfaction. The feel and components work for me. I fish at least once a week sometimes twice not a pro but this is my opinion

Was a good rod

This was my favorite rod I liked it even more than my kistler z bone until I hooked into the tiniest perch you’ll ever see and snapped it
