This rod is a downgrade from the previous Avid Salmon/Steelhead Rods that they used to make for the same price point. These rods have a very noodle-y blank that make them a lot less sensitive than my other St Croix Salmon rods (9'-0" Medium Avid, 9'-0" Legend Elite). This would be fine for use as a bobber (Skein/Shrimp/etc) rod where a slow action can help keep fish pinned, but it doesn't quite stack up as a jigging rod for spoons or plastics.
Perfect! Although I use it for striped bass.
