I've had this rod for less than a year and used it once last year, catching one bass. This year I used it twice and caught 20+ bass, and the last 14 incher broke off the tip, so I wasn't too concerned. It's a St. Croix, right? It's less than a year old and has a warranty. One of the reasons I purchased it was I went to the site and thought I was reading it wrong. NO… charge you $60 for a warranty claim. If it were an older rod, 5-6 years old wouldn't be so bad, but this is BS. Imagine if you just bought it and broke it the first time out and had to pay another $60. I have 5 older St. Croix Rods; this may be the last one.
Good quality and value
I use this rod for moving baits like lipless cranks, I can sling this thing around an the guides are good, but my only problem is the seat, the grooves are only held on by a little super glue that wears easily, just about lost my reel yesterday when it gave out on me. Invest your money into a better rod.
Excellent service
