The rod is amazing in every way and cast like a dream, but the handle which you can't see in the picture is cut out and creates a sharp ridge or edge at the top. After a while your thumb will get numb because it cuts in drastically. I ended up getting some hockey tape and filling in the space where they cut out and it helps but wish it was perfect out of the box.

This is my opinion, I have used the best this industry has to offer in terms of spinning rods and this is hands down my favorite of all. EXTREMELY comfortable, light, sensitive with the best warranty in the industry to back it up. I sold all of my Gloomis NRX's because of St.Croix's fantastic customer service and warranty. Performance wise of the rod this rod compared to a NRX or Conquest & other high end rods, I cannot tell THAT big of a difference in performance. Plus less cork maintenance is nice too.

While fishing near Eagle River the tip of my favorite Wacky rod snapped on a hookset. Being so close to Park Falls decided to drive the 65 miles to the St. Croix factory. The broken Legend Tournament Wacky style was inspected by the St. Croix rep and full credit was given for the purchase price. I own 7 Legend Tournament and Legend Tournament Glass rods and that many again Avid old style rods. The St. Croix rep at the store also said I could take credit on a higher class rod. He had me at credit.............the Legend X is an amazing rod and is slowly becoming my new favorite. It will be a tough sell to upgrade all to Legend X but what a great problem to have. This rod is so light and sensitive for Wacky rigging and teamed with a Shimano Vanford 3000 series is usually the first rod reached for on the bass boat.

Depuis ma première Avid achetée en 2009 j'en suis rendu à ma huitième St.Croix et jamais je n'ai été déçu. Une Avid, 4 LTB, 1 Xtreme, 1 Elite et maintenant 1 Legend X. Quand on touche à ces cannes, particulièrement les Elite et Legend X on ne veut plus rien d'autre. Elle sont extrêmement sensibles et légères avec des composantes de top niveau. Merci St.Croix vous êtes au top.

I was able to acquire one of these rods recently, and have been extremely impressed. I have a few Legend Tournaments which I love, but I can't believe how much better this rod is. My friend had one and it was so ergonomic on top of being extremely sensitive and durable that I had to get one for myself. The finish on the rod is beautifully done, and all the components are of the highest quality. This may very well be the best rod on Earth.
