This rod can feel everything, absolutely loved it for jig and crawler! Great quality. I have 3 other types of St Croix rods, this one has the best feel of all to me in hand as well.
Did a family lake trip and took this rod along with me. Just was throwing jig heads off pier. Shorter than my other rods, but was getting great casts and it was fun to use. Wound up catching a smallmouth bass on a lake folks said they are basically non-existent.
Very comfortable for drop shoting. Information transmits beautifully with the Carbon Fiber handle. Well balanced through the foregrip. I like it more than expected. Physyx for the win. Thanks St. Croix!
Bought the spinning 7'1" MF on a Friday and cashed a check with it on Saturday pitching to suspended pre-spawners. The rear trigger takes a little to get used to but I was grabbing for it on my other rods Sunday after fishing with it all day Saturday. Rod has solid carbon handles, I bought it for sensitivity, not weight, I've never owned a Croix before only custom rods.
received 7'3" mlxf spinning to replace a 20 year old avid 7' mlf .. first noticed its weight. So they hit the digital scale . The old sciii avid weighed 3.9 oz and the new sciv physyx was 5.5 oz Wow!!! I own a lot of avids and legend elites and one heavy legend tournament and this new physyx is now my heaviest rod . I had higher hopes after learning it wasn't painted a lot and had carbon handle but this sc iv blanks still has the old problems.. Due to its weight,, the sensitivity feels muted on top of that. The rod is beautiful and cast far but is not good for finesse fishing. Physics? missed the mark
