I mistakenly ordered a Casting Rod instead of a Spinning Rod. Sent it back and ordered the correct Rod.. No questions asked.. I will only use St Croix Rods!!!
I received the new model of the Mojo Trigon because my Mojo of the previous generation broke. I filed a warranty claim and received the new Trigon because the previous generation was no longer available. The new reel seat and "Trigon" handle is a major step backwards. It is the single most uncomfortable rod I've ever used. It's way too skinny of a handle. Also, the reel seat goes too far back on the rod so my hand hardly touches the cork part of the handle when reeling. In general, the overall reel seat is a major downgrade. This has been a downward trend in quality over the years. From Fuji to Seaguar to this self-branded inferior reel seat. Furthermore, the trigger is 1/2 the size/length of a regular size trigger?? When I cast, I feel I'm going to accidentally throw the rod in the water. Nobody I fish with likes the new handle/reel seat. And I mean nobody. I literally fished with it for about 2 hours before I couldn't take it anymore and stopped using it (forever). I'm currently trying to trade it on marketplace for something else. I've been bass fishing for 40 years and I have Dobyn's, Shimano, Kistler, Daiwa, 13, Fenwick, Halo and other St. Croix rods. The Trigon is my least favorite of all my rods by far. I don't even take it with me in the boat. Anyone wanna trade?!? For more real life reviews, I'd suggest looking at the reviews on Tackle warehouse's site. Change is not always a good thing. Tight lines.
I use ST.Croix rods only. I really like the new handle design.
I wish the butt end cap was flat or round so it fit in rod racks. The deflection curve is good and has enough strength to fight big fish.
The Mojo series has always been one of my favorites but the Trigon Handle brings it to a new level. Not only is the design very comfortable for all day use but it allows for better grip strength making it indispensable in heavy cover situations.
