Poor quality, worse warranty & service

I bought my first St. Croix rod 25 years ago to catch large pike and have LOVED it! This past summer, I decided to update (and upgrade) my bass rod and bought a 6' 2-piece (model PS60MF2) in September. My $200 rod broke the first day, so clearly it was defective. I immediately filed a warranty claim, but it was 2 weeks before my claim was even started. To replace the broken defective section, it cost me an additional $25. It's now December, and shipment of my replacement section has been delayed from mid-November, to the end of November, and now until mid-January. The recording on their warranty line says they want to get you back fishing as soon as possible; clearly they are not able to do so. I asked for a refund on the rod since I'm getting tired of waiting for the replacement, but they only offered to refund the $25 from the warranty claim. Why would I want to do that and be out $200? After my first tremendous success story with St. Croix years ago, this has been a HUGE disappointment. I would not recommend buying from St. Croix.

I love my St. Croix rods. I recently purchased a Premier 6.6' light power, fast action. This is my 2nd purchase of this model. Can't wait to go fishing with it.

St Croix ultra light rod

The rod came on time, undamaged and shipping container was great. I purchased this rod for my Granddaughter for trout fishing. It'll be great rod for her and application. I've fished with St Croix muskie rods my adult life and had zero issues with them. Y'all have a great product, no complaints here. Thank you, Mike McGuire
