Quality Rods for the Price

I have owned the ML version for four seasons and I’ve owned the UL version for two seasons. The UL is my go to rod for panfish, and the ML I use for panfish as well as perch and walleye. I have switched out the spring bobber on the ML for the MH spring bobber for bigger lures and it still works great. Hands down the best spring bobber set up I’ve used. I’ve caught multiple walleye over 20” on the UL rod while jigging for panfish. Largest being a 24”. I’ve caught large white bass on that rod as well. Talk about a thrill!

Rod tip snapped off right above second eye-lit 2-years in so no warranty. So much for being a legend…. Should’ve saved the $85 that was spent on this rod and just bought a custom rod from a different manufacturer.

Dont waste ur time.

Bought 5 total between 2 retailers. First off they had to order them from this site... Wasnt in stock. 2nd. Two rods that were shipped to cabelas store were broken already at the store. So ended up having to wait again. Both were broke at the tips. I ordered from a second retailer online and had them shipped to my door at the same time the cabelas order had been processed because I wanted to surprise a friend for his birthday. Luckily these werent broken already. We ended up going fishing, he hooked into a 2lb tiny burbot that broke the rod in half as he set..... Literally in half first fish... I literally am done. For a rod that i paid dam near 80$ a piece for, I WILL NEVER EVER USE ST. CROIX AGAIN!!! reminded me of a 10$ southbend walmart special the way it snapped.

Do yourself a favor. Clam outdoors has rods for 35$ and they dont snap. Save your money, order quality.

I’ve owned one of these rods in a 30” medium light for a number of years. I have had nothing fail on mine like the previous reviewers have. The only down fall for me is the $14 cost of Heavier spring bobbers. I mounted a 13 fishing inline reel on the rod and I prefer a slightly heavier jig to help with speed when dropping down. But often times it over loads the light spring bobber. This rod is also much better suited for inside the shack as opposed to hole hopping, due to the spring bobber icing up so bad. The power of the medium light to me seems more comparable to medium, so a person would definitely want to go with the light if they were targeting perch or other panfish.

low quality rod

I ordered mine on January 28/2020 from Cabela's. It is nice looking rod, that broke in half on the first fishing trip. The first perch that got on a hook broke this nice rod. I am not sure if it's just my bad luck, but it sounds more like low manufacture quality, or maybe parts of this rods made in China. Who knows? More frustrating is a manufacture warranty. It covers expensive rod only for 1 year. This rod is very light, when I ordered I paid only $5 for shipping from manufacture, now I have to pay another $20 for repair/replacement. And I am not sure what I am going to get back. Very disappointed. Hopefully someone will find that helpful when ordering.
