Great ice fishing rod

I bought the MLF 36” spoon one and I absolutely love it. I pair it with fire line and then a floro leader and it has extreme sensitivity to feel a super light spoon and ability to handle heaven spoons just as well. It is absolutely a great experience to hook a nice walleye with this. Even the lightest bite it can feel, hook set is amazing with it. I have a diversity of different brands and this one is honestly my favorite to fish with. Even though it is a soon version — it fishes a plethora of baits very well. Would recommend, worth every penny.

Pretty sweet rods

I've got the Perch Seeker and Pan Finesse. Both are fantastic rods, very light in hand and sensitive. The Perch Seekers action is pretty dang perfect, with a VERY light/soft tip but enough backbone to handle any Perch and most light walleye techniques. Excellent spoon and plastic rod. The pan finesse is the best gill/crappie/sunfish rod ive used and perfect for a 1 man flip over due to its length. Will definitely add more from this series, only thing I don't love is the price. No way a 30" ice rod is worth the same as a 7' Victory or Avid.

The first one of these that I bought was the Tungsten Tamer, I got it to replace a broken rob in my kit. After using it with its amazing backbone and control of the modern spoon jigs, it became the first rod I grabbed for in the box. Last year I added the Pan Finesse and the Trophy Taker. Both of them live up to the family values that I expect from St Croix. This year I will be adding the Eye Raiser and the House Rod. The feel and fishability af this family of rods is something you have to fish to understand.

I’ve tried many different brands, these are on a different level

Buy with confidence. These rods are made with the utmost quality and pride by my friends and neighbors. I own over 30 of them. I primarily fish with the search bait, perch seeker and dead eye rods but also use others as well for different applications. I’m blessed with the ability to travel all over the Midwest and fish these rods in all conditions and scenarios you can imagine. They are a game changer. Period. You can present baits in manners that were never able to be achieved. You can detect bites that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Whether the fish are mega active and you need to pull baits aggressively or you are on late season highly pressured fish there is a solution for it in these rods. I have had zero issues with sensitivity, backbone for hookset power, or rod loading to keep fish pinned and controlled to the hole. If you have questions on applications, rod power, or sizing a reel to match the rods please give the folks at St Croix a call and they will gladly and expertly get you set up.

Guide issue as stated below

I agree with the comments below in regards to the issue with the guide closest to the reel. I have the 32in search bait rod. The balance, sensitivity, and overall feel of the rod are amazing. However, when reeling in decent eater sized to bigger walleye the rod causes the reel retrieve to get real jerky. I do believe this contributed to a good fish being lost. Please address this issue and keep everything else with the rod the same. Overall, awesome rod and my go to rod with raps and rattle spoons.
