I've had this rod for a few months and it had held up perfectly. It is very sensitive yet still has good power on hooksets.
I bought a set of 2 -piece Premier spin and bait casting rods for my families recent trip to Canada. Travel restrictions drove me to make this investment. We loved the performance of all the rods and never noticed any difference or weakness vs 1- piece. Their sensitivity and backbone were excellent features. Glad to have them in our arsenal.
Rod broke on the 4th trout I caught. Sent all the info on line as instructed. After a few weeks heard from no one. Followed up and received an email a guide would contact me and to fill out warranty again. I have 7 other St Croix rods and thankful no issues with them. This will be the last one I buy. Now I have a $115.00 rod that is no good. Sad when companies brag about their quality products but dontvstand behind them. Half a star rating.
Rod broke on a 5lb bass 1 foot from end, company wanted to charge me $60.00 for a replacement. No way will pursue other manufacture, no customer service, took days to get an answer. Filed and emailed on line documentation. They had no record of me sending all information, DONE .
In my opinion, the sensitivity and feel is just as good as the higher dollar St. Croix rods. Last summer I was out and broke my rod on a hookset. I stopped in the factory store and they replaced it free of charge. I would highly recommend the premier series and St. Croix rods in general.
