Terrible service

Don’t buy from St. Croix. I ordered a rod on 5/15 with delivery scheduled for 5/19. Five days later when I accessed the UPS tracker, the rod packaged was damaged on 5/19 and the rod was missing. UPS notified St. Croix on that date but nothing was done until I complained. On 5/29 I received an email that a replacement rod was shipped. There was no apology or attempt to expedite the rod delivery. Had I known about the delay in a timely manner I could have purchased a rod elsewhere. Now when I am fishing, the rod I ordered will sit on my porch. Terrible service.

Factory 2nd.

I have a Premier PS70M that I bought as a factory second from Park Falls location in 1994 or 95. I paired it with a Penn 4500ss spinning real. It is my go to rod. It has been a great rod and set up. I don't know how these guys break rods setting hooks on fish as they claim. Mine 30yrs old and still catching fish. Excellent rods in my experience.

7'6" med light premier spinning rod and avid 7'3" medium light

I have put both these models to the test down here in Rockport. I wanted a bit lighter rod for my clients. The 7'6" premier medium light fast action is perfect for my average days. Clients landed black drum in the 25" range with a 2500 series reel with no problem. I throw a 3/4 egg sinker or a popping cork rig, it handles both well.
The Avid 7'3" medium light fast action is going to be my trout rods mainly. It's a bit lighter than the premier series. I feel like it handled the drum well, but is more suited for free line croaker fishing for trout. I'm very pleased with both series and will be switching all my rods to premier and avid series rods my guide business.

Thank you St. Croix
