Great smallmouth rod! Never a

"Great smallmouth rod! Never a concern on having enough backbone for Great Lakes smallmouth, and sensitive enough to feel lighter bites. Know have 4 as primary rods for swim baits, Ned’s and tubes. Add in the customer service, in my opinion best set up you can get."

"Well deserved reputation for great fishing rods. Exceptionally fast deliver and very well packaged give the fragility of fishing rods."

I bought seven St

"I bought seven St Croix rods and five Lews custom light reels this year. So far. I am extremely happy how sensitive and light the rods are. Combined with the Lews custom light reels I have a Great selection of very sensitive and lightweight fishing combinations to choose from from. The rods were a great purchase!! But as others have also stated, don’t expect anyone to answer the phone or respond to emails in what most customers expect! Not going to happen! You may also receive an empty tube because the shipping person at St Croix failed to use enough tape to keep the plastic plugs at the ends of the tube in place. My UPS driver showed me the tube two rods were shipped in without tube plugs and one small piece of tape left. I was not happy! When I received the replacement rods there was no tape left on one end of the rod tube and just a small amount on the other end. I don’t understand how a company that builds such great fishing rods can so sloppily ship their product and not promptly respond to customers! Thankfully, the rods are great."

I bought this spinning

"I bought this spinning rod and a Trika at the same time. Both 7’ medium fast action rods. My Trika rod is a little bit lighter but other than that my Premier is better in every way: balance, backbone, and surprisingly sensitivity which is supposed to be Trikas niché. The real set on my Trika wont stay locked down either. Every 8-10 fish I have to check and re-tighten. My St. Croix stays locked down. Plus, the Premier was over $50 cheaper. Really great rod. Will pick up another one for my ultegra."

almost perfect blank, buyer remorse handle

"I bought the 73mlxf and found the blank is great for finesse fishing, but am really disappointed with the handle design. The handle and reel seat is too far back. The handle is anything but up to St. Croix standards and the reel seat needs moved forward to balance the blank in your hand. It is too butt heavy and the Legend Extreme or Mojo Yak spinning handle would make this more sensitive and comfortable in the right location."

Rod handle separated from

"Rod handle separated from rod. Love the action but the rod handle issue is frustrating. I epoxied it after it came loose and now it has come loose again"

"We bought 4 rods from st croix and the eyecon rod we got broke on the first fish we caught we netted a half pound smallmouth bass into the boat and the fish shook with very low tension in the rod tip and it snapped 2 guides down very disappointed after we just had got it out of box."
