Abhorrent Quality

"This rod feels fantastic in hand. The weight distribution and split are phenomenal. The 10' comfortably handles anything you could tie on the other end, or hook up to. That's about as far as the positives go. The plastic quality is absolutely abhorrent. My reel foot tightener/nut split down the middle after 3 days of use (roughly 13 total hours). Arguably the most important component of the rod, and the highest stress piece, and the plastic is as thick as a credit card. This should not be the standard for a $300 surf speciality rod like this."

My rod was delivered broken

"My rod was delivered broken in a light card board container with no real protection. I have reached out and sent pictures to understand how to get a replacement but have not heard back. I seldom spend so much on a purchase but this rod comes highly recommended, so was disappointed, and am trying to get a rod expedited for this weekend but have not heard back from customer service/return department."

Salmon Rod

"I use it for big river king salmon. I saw off 6” of the handle and epoxy custom but cup. Use Shimano Stella 5000 reel with 40 lbs braid. Killer large (20-45lbs) fish rig. In my opinion Seage is the best St. Croix lineup of rods."

Love ot

"I bought a St Croix 10'-6" Seage in med/heavy. I love its light weight and balance when its paired with my 6000 size reel. I fish with 3-4 oz Lures here in NorCal. I finally have a rod and reel combo that I can cast with all day without getting tired. Love it!"

Broken Rod - Warranty Dept. no where to be found

"I purchased my first St Croix rod this year. I was real excited since I had heard good things. the rod was light weight and casted well but it was short lives since it snapped on my third trip out. put in for warranty replacement online the same day as the break and haven't heard a thing back. 3 emails, 2 web form submission and a 30 min phone call waiting on hold. Can't reach anyone in almost 2 months."

Good rod, breaks

"I've owned this rod for two seasons now. It's broken every year at this time when I'm fishing good size stripers. The first time it broke was probably my own fault. I was lobbing a out of range heavy needlefish and the tip snapped. The second time however I was tossing a prerigged 9" sluggo. It snapped six guides down. I'm guessing the blank got compromised when I was hauling in a few dozen good stripers (35") over the prior 3 days. I'm torn whether or not to put in for warranty. I like the way the rod casts and it's sensitivity - I toss a lot of plastics - but if it breaks once a year-🤯"

MY RODS KEEP BREAKING

"I HAD THE MOJO TO SURF CAST AND THE TIPS KET BREAKING IN THE SAME SPOT SO I UPGRADED TO THE SEAGE AND NOW THAT ONE HAS SNAPPED ABOVE THE EEL AND WHEN IT SNAPPED DURING A CAST THE TIP HIT AND BROKE THE TIP."

I have the 8

"I have the 8 footer. Use it for catching Blue Fish and Striped Bass off the jetty. Going on my second season and pole is going strong. This pole casts a mile for only being 8 feet. It actually throws further than my 9 foot Tsunami. It has so much feel but also a lot of back bone. I am able to pick fish straight up onto the rocks with no net. I wish I had extra money to get the 11 or 12 footer."
