"I bought the Triumph Inshore 7'6" MH spinning rod, and use it for casting spoons for Pike and Lake Trout. it handles the fish (up to 20lbs so far) very well. Enough back bone at the bottom end, stiff enough mid section and tip to handle the fish and spoons up to 2oz with comfort. Don't feel under gunned with big fish, or underlined with 2oz spoons (husky jr. spoons in my case)."
"I bought 6 rods for my charter business. They came in the mail without any issue. However, I strung one up and tested it. It felt great, but there was a lot of flex in the tip. I went to attach a hook to the hook saver and the tip of the rod broke. I sent them all back and waiting to upgrade to a different model. I had the same issue with the mojos a few years back. Strong backbone but overly weak tips. No way they would last on charters."
"I own at least 16 St. Croix rods and I have one for every kind of fishing we do from mojo to Avid and triumph even yaks for bait catching. I have been purchasing them since 2019 and have 2 of each one for me and one for my bride! She now understands why they are light heavy MF HF for different bites. I recently hooked up on one of my rods on a big snappers grouper and after a fight for 20 plus minutes the rod snapped 5th eye down I still fought the fish for another 10 minutes with a broken rod. . . and it got off my hook, I was shocked that the rod broke first time in 9 years I have had one of my Croix's give out and break. Even thought the rod broke it was the best rid bending fight I have had in my life. . . Thank you St. Croix for making the highest quality rods on the planet. Warranty has been submitted with request to upgrade."
