Solid salmon/steelhead rod
"The rod performs great and I have had no issues. I give it 4 stars because the threaded reel capture is definitely cheap. For this brand, I would expect more, and for this one piece that a rod owner uses on a regular basis, a more solid part would not add much cost but would add a lot of user satisfaction. The two piece construction is useful given the length of the rod. I can tell St. Croix put thought into having the length of insertion be longer than other rods and that gives a solid connection for casting heavy buzz bombs from the end of a 9 ft rod."
