I use the 6 foot for my trout rod. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like an extension of my hand. I can toss and flip and rip this all day and then hike through the woods carrying it, no problem! Very high end pole, pair it with a high end reel and it's the best trout combo you will ever find.

I’ve bought one factory SCV and built on five C5 blanks. I’ve also built on the highest model lines of NFC, Rainshadow, and Point Blanks. These have the finest actions by far. St Croix knows the art and science of tapers like no others.

Some of those other makers (not Rainshadow) have incredible jargon to describe other companies’ base materials. This same subset of suspects also seems to own unique scales or maybe have redefined how much an ounce actually weighs. Regardless of all that, their blanks often feel clubby or awkward in how they load after putting down one of these.

Hands down St. Croix makes the best fishing rods in the World. My new 7 foot 2-piece Legend Elite Medium Heavy Spin handles wonderfully well for walleye, largemouth bass and small mouth bass. Also, it travels by air or car much better than my old one piece rods. It's a marvel of carbon fiber technology and the engineers at St. Croix.
