Broken top Section x2

"Used the Priemer PS66MHF2 rod for walleye and Pike fishing and broke the top section on 2 separate occasions of less then 20 days of total use. 1st time was casting (1/4 oz jig) from a boat and top section just above the guide broke, paid the $60 and got a replacement. Second break was retrieving a Northern Pike approximately 6lbs from behind the boat and the replacement top section broke in the same location. This should be considered a manufactured defect that St Croix should fix at there cost and not mine. $60 for each warranty fee x2 this rod now costs (initial cost) $280 +60 +60 = $400 = too much for an unreliable fishing rod, I upgraded to hopefully a better rod, Time will tell. I DO NOT recommend this line of rods. I have lots of Eyecon rods and I love them just not fond of paying fees for company R&D."

I ordered this rod using

"I ordered this rod using the same numbers from my old rod. They are completely different rods. My old rod was stiffer and has a much faster action. This rod is a wet noodle. I’m very disappointed that I can’t replace my older rod."

Light weight, good feel on

"Light weight, good feel on the bite and good power on the hook set!"

St Croix for life

"Strength of the rod allows me to lift med\small size bass in the boat. Tried this with a similar graphite rod from a different mfg, rod broke. Retailer refused refund/replacement claimed I stepped on rod, pffft."

This was a gift for

"This was a gift for my father and it actually made him tear up. Great pole! ,"

"Another nce rod i do believe that between the premier and the Blacck Bass series the premier has a softer action but both are rated MHF"

I use St. Croix Premiers

"I use St. Croix Premiers as my guest rods while guiding smallmouth trips on the New River in WV. The updated model is lighter, faster, and less tip heavy than previous generations. I love my Avids and Legends, but there's nothing I need a rod to do that a Premier can't handle. Add in the fact that they're made in the USA and it's a no brainer!"

Rod snapped in half

"I was trying to retrieve a snag and working it with my wrist. The rod snapped about 14 inches from the handle, with 4lb berkley trilene. I couldn't believe what happened. I bought this premier 5' rod about 6 years ago. It replaced a 4'6" model i had used for 22 years, I lost that rod on a kayaking trip. I'm lead to believe the quality of craftsmanship has dwindled in the past decade or so. . . It's a shame."
