Poor Product and Customer Service
"After only a few uses I brought my two Mojo rods in for replacement because 6” of both rods had snapped off while retrieving crappie. Since I live out of the area I wasn’t able to bring them into the factory store until a few days after the one year mark from purchasing them. I was charged $30 per rod for replacements and while waiting was told by an older sales person that I was to blame for the breaks because I had a slack line when setting the hook. These are the first and only rods that broke during use in the 50+ years I have been fishing. Also, both rods broke when catching crappie on a beetle spin retrieval. He also explained how no other company would warranty their rods for this type of break. Probably because their rods don’t snap from routine use. Someone, should explained victim blaming to this person. And by victim I mean anyone purchasing a St. Croix rod. I will not be a victim of this ever again."
Broke within a few weeks of purchase
"Went in to the factory store a year and a few days after purchasing two Mojo rods and both has 6” of the tip broken off. Both instances happened while landing crappie. Was charged $30 per rod for replacement. While waiting an older sales person explained to me how I was to blame for the rods breaking because I had slack line when setting hook. Funny, been fishing for over 50 years and these are the first and only rods that broke during use. His explanation also doesn’t hold water as I was using a beetle spin and caught the fish during retrieval. Nothing better than to be victim shamed. No more St Croix rods for us."
