Bought a premier series spinning rod for Canada trip. It broke about 18" down from tip on first day. I was able to land some fish prior to that, but it broke under normal use and had me pretty confused over it for a while. Tried 2 times for warranty on website with absolutely no reply. After some months, I have decided to bite the bullet and pay $60.00 for the "Excellerator" program. Not happy, but we'll see what happens.
The Best rods!
I own 6 of these rods and I love every one of them. Can’t go wrong with st croix premier
I bought my first St. Croix rod 25 years ago to catch large pike and have LOVED it! This past summer, I decided to update (and upgrade) my bass rod and bought a 6' 2-piece (model PS60MF2) in September. My $200 rod broke the first day, so clearly it was defective. I immediately filed a warranty claim, but it was 2 weeks before my claim was even started. To replace the broken defective section, it cost me an additional $25. It's now December, and shipment of my replacement section has been delayed from mid-November, to the end of November, and now until mid-January. The recording on their warranty line says they want to get you back fishing as soon as possible; clearly they are not able to do so. I asked for a refund on the rod since I'm getting tired of waiting for the replacement, but they only offered to refund the $25 from the warranty claim. Why would I want to do that and be out $200? After my first tremendous success story with St. Croix years ago, this has been a HUGE disappointment. I would not recommend buying from St. Croix.
I love my St. Croix rods. I recently purchased a Premier 6.6' light power, fast action. This is my 2nd purchase of this model. Can't wait to go fishing with it.
