Amazing rod to own !!!!!!!!!!

I am a year round fisherman and I put countless hours on my rods. I have broken my tip twice on my 9 ft panfish rod, 1 of those times was my fault and the other time was while I was casting a 1/8 oz jig. Both times I had my tip replaced for 25$ . Honestly I think this is fair . Shipping is included in this price so that being said I personally think the warranty on these rods is right where it should be. These rods are awesome and the sensitivity of these rods are top notch. I agree with some of the other reviews about customer service not being the best but honestly we can’t hold the company responsible because the customer service employee may be having a bad day . People have bad days and holding the company responsible for that seems childish to me. St croix panfish rods are amazing and if you are reading this review and want an honest review I personally absolutely love the panfish mod-fast action 9 ft rod. I have the 7ft version as well. When I go crappie / white bass / and bluegill fishing this is the rod I grab every time over any of my 15 other rods I own and 3 different brands of rods . St croix is #1 in my books . If you choose this rod you will not regret it but like always try to find a dealer like cabelas or bass pro that carries these rods so you can find the one that suits you best . You will not regret this decision once you feel that fist bite and hook up I honestly believe you will be amazed with these rods. Good luck to you on your next fishing trip.

Guide insert trash coating trash

Worst $130 ultra light rod ever I believe I bought it at local store here $140 after tax. Bought this rod months ago barely use it until 2 month ago after some hours fishing I notice my line fraying and not as smooth when reeling in turn out insert guides too weak to handle some 6lb mono line. The line is cutting into guides also the coating starting to fade. Not worth doing the warranty on it unless all the guides are swap out. Rather trash it than paying warranty for the same rod!! Do not recommend it you will be disappointed!! Will be my last st croix rod I will ever purchase. Rod worth $50 only

Great rods , I have many of the models

I have used St Croix rods for over 30 years and love each model that I have. The Panfish has surprised me and is my favorite Ultra light / Light set up for creek fishing. I have several of the 1st Gen and many if the 2nd Gen and love them all. I'm even lucky enough to own the 10' and 11' version.....great rods , love the eyelets on these rods as no worries of breaking out the ceramic guides anymore.

Warranty replacement

PNS69ULF as a gift
18 inches of tip broke off on 1st hook set. Had been injured so I had rod 9 months before I could fish with it(got it as a gift) It cost me $50 to have it replaced since the warranty changed after I received the rod. I received a newer style rod with split handle instead of full Cork handle like I had. The newer rod handle feels so cheap and looks cheap with the plastic that is used. The new style handle is horrible if I knew the warranty replacement was going to be like this I would have kept the $50 and not had it replaced. I would never pay $140 for this rod !! I wouldn't even buy this rod especially since they had a price increase and it made with cheaper materials.

Quality of rods and Warranty Service

I have purchased in the past at least 10 different rods from St Croix because of the quality and their promise to back their products.
But lately I’ve been extremely disappointed.
They’ve discontinued the AVID X Spinning AXS66MLF Series and replaced it with a much cheaper blank and handle altogether..
Spent months trying to call about broken blank. No answer for 1 hour after about 10 calls and finally got ahold of a Rep. Did everything she said to do, pics, Serial number, email, etc and no response back from her. I wanted to replace with cheaper Panfish rod with same actin, etc., but I’m soon going to have to decide to give up on St Croix because I don’t believe they are what they use to be.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone to purchase their products anymore.
I use to boast about how great they were. But not anymore.
