Best costumer service ever

My Rod broke on the top, I called St. Croix I had to email pictures to them. Couple weeks later ( I already forgot about it), he called me to let me know they will send me a new rod. I paid 50$ for shipping and packing and had my rod couple days later. I was so positive surprised since normally you have to run after companies to get your stuff situated.

Not like they used to be

So I have a few St. Croix rods that I really like. They are light and sensitive and fun to fish with. This review is more about the company and warranty process than the actual rods themselves. Even though I think the quality has gone downhill on them. I purchased a rod this past summer for my annual fishing trip to Maine. Purchased the same rod that I already have 2 older versions of. On the 3rd day of the trip it breaks setting the hook on a fish. Mind you this is EXACTLY how I have fished the other rods for several years and the rod did not get stepped on, or shut in a door or damaged in any other way. It just broke because it is defective plain and simple. Then I find out that I have to pay $50 for a warranty claim on a rod I just spent $120 on 3 days ago and was clearly defective. Hell $50 is almost half the cost of a brand new rod. So now this rod will cost me $170 AND the warranty department is not helpful, does not contact you in a timely manner (it's been 42 days since I submitted my warranty claim and I still have no timeline of when I will get my new rod). Too many other rod companies out there to stick with one that does not actually honor their warranty and take customer service seriously.

Broken Rods

Broken Rods happen, But I know for a fact (because I broke 2) all you need to do is walk into factory store if able and know questions were asked and walked in factory and brought them out. Or use online and within 2 weeks I had action with service department. Thank you St Croix.

Premier Spinning

I have owned 5 of these spinning rods with a couple nearing 30 years when they were stolen. I have never broken one from ultra light to medium heavy in all my years. I'm aware there is faulty product (only God is perfect), but it has never been the case with my experience with St. Croix. I have serious questions about actually breaking a rod while fishing because of several factors: drag too tight, improper use of braided lines, using it on a species that you KNOW will break it and just being a moron. I use only St. Croix rods, have never broken one, and when I call them with a question they are courteous and knowledgeable of their products. I recommend the Premier Series Rods from the novice to the experienced fisherman. Great deal, great product.

trout fishermans HEAVEN

Trout fishing with this rod is a dream. I purchased a 6' light on december 26th 2019. I have caught 1000's of trout, crappie, panfish, smallmouth, largemouth, and walleye on this rod. I was fishing for fall crappie's and hooked into a 10 pound largemouth bass. It handled it like a DREAM! Great rod for spinners, keitch's, curly tails, hairjigs, and small jerkbaits. Weither im wading a tiny brook with a hair jig for brook trout, or jumping up rocks with a x-rap searched for big browns on the South Holstun river. Or just out on my boat looking for some crappie with a kietch, I know my St.criox premier has my back. Im 14 but I own 4 of these rods, and hopefully 4 more to come!
